The Eyes Are The Window To The Soul
Quote Of The Moment
Don't listen to those who say, 'You're taking too big a chance.' Michelangelo would have painted the Sistine floor, and it would surely be rubbed out by today

Keeping My Head Down
I actually have not been up to much
Just practice and more practice
Hmmm
Not necessarily a bad thing.
This year around the workouts and exercises are not new. I am no longer the new girl in the group there are others. Lots of them. lol
They now have that blank stare of confusion as we go through out warm up. Or when the session for the day is told to the group by Loren. I look around now and laugh because I used to look like that. Wide eyed and bricking it. lol
So as and when I have stuff to talk about I will.

And the word of the week is 'Ouch"
“The pain goes away on payday.”
Larry Fine quotes
Four days into practice and I am shuffling around like Ive done a couple of rounds in the ring with Tyson. Trust me there are no sudden movements. Every and I mean every movement is preplanned in my head. I actually rolled off the sofa onto my knees yesterday just to get up. Yeah I felt like a fool as I crawled to the coffee table so I could hoist myself up. I'm using the banisters to climb the stairs and getting laughed at alot in the house. I'm doing the John Wayne walk and feel like I have been riding a horse all week gripping with my inner thighs.
Yesterday was pure mixed emotions. I think I took myself through the cycle of pain. To the point that, at one point I felt nothing I was that delirious from the pain. I have been cramping in the strangest places. Like my forearms and the front of my shins. The classic moment was when I cramped in my abs I looked like a Spartan in the movie 300. I so should have taken a picture but was instead doubled over claiming I was dying. lol
What the hell have you been doing? you might ask. "Oh just regular welcome back Loren Seagrave workouts. lol
So I'm officially back on the grind.
Hopefully I just might be able to climb in the bath without holding onto the shower curtain by Monday.
PS
Enjoy the 300 trailer its one of my favorite movies

I'm in a sharing mood.
Is it just me who has not heard of Stanislav Petrov?
I just read this article that made me think wow!
I personally have never heard this story before. Please forgive me if it is common knowledge.

Strictly Come Dancing
Last night in the UK on the equivalent show of Dancing With The Stars 'Strictly Come Dancing' Amy Winehouse and her God Daughter performed.
The thing that caught my eye was that Dionne is only 13 and Amy sang back up vocals for her.
Thought I would share cause shes pretty good
Enjoy

Coming To An End
So my week in LA is coming to an end
Its been relaxing to say the least. Each day I think 1PM was the average time for my shower as I sat around Jacks apartment eating pancakes and watching breakfast TV. Now I have to deal with the wide ass issue that I have obtained in such a small amount of time.
Kai Kelley who's a friend of Jacks has been great. He is the restaurant guide to LA. lol He has come up with some great places to eat.
Some good and ONE place not so good
Here is the exact moment when Jack found a fly in her water.
And to add insult to injury we didn't get a discount for our meal.
I thought Jack was getting stable on her crutches until we had a little incident last night. One minute she was up and the next minute she was DOWN. We chuckle at it now but when it happened it was not a pretty sight. There really is not much you can do for somebody who is on crutches other than to hover around them braced to catch them if they fall. So how I ask did Jack manage to fall at Kai's feet and him not notice. lol. He can explain that one to you himself.
Her spirits are up as she displayed she still has the bug for buying shoes. Only Jack could hobble to the shoe store, try on one shoe and purchase two. lol
She also had the first 1 foot Pedicure. It turns out this is Jacks 3rd Pedicure ever. Her last being 1990 something. Even the women painting my toes nails commented "oh only 11 years since your last Pedicure" lol. We both shot her a look like "who was talking to you?" lol
So I wanted to get my chill on and thats exactly what I've been doing.
In the next couple of days I will post a few conversations that we have had that have made me say. Hmmmmmmmmm
lol
But, its back to Atlanta next week to start practice. I know I will blink and then January will come around and I will be hearing the familiar words "Tracksuits off please ladies".
So its time to knuckle down and get my practice on

Church
For those who don't know I was raised a Catholic but lets say I'm not a regular go to church on Sunday practicing Catholic. Its not that I'm scared of religion just at this present point in my life I feel religion is in my heart.
I have had many friends in the past who have showed their religious up bringing and I am forever being invited to different churches.
As I'm in California visiting Jack I decided to take her up on her invitation. Plus how else was she going to get there.
Lets just say I had a very pleasant time. I was made welcome and did not feel out of place. Even though I did not necessarily pack clothes to go to church.
They had a visiting choir from Japan that really blew me away. These kids do not have English as their first language but they can sing in English.
Jack was up on her one leg making sure she got a good view and I had goose bumps
Below is a clip of them at yesterdays service.
Enjoy I defiantly did

Chilling
So I have a week before I officially start back at practice.
January will come around so soon so I'm savoring this time and enjoying just chilling.
A few weeks ago I corrupted my nephew Maxie. I was watching him over night as my sister was headed out some place. We played and I was tortured by non stop 'Scoobby Doo' It was 1pm before we decided to take our baths and start the day the next day.
At one point he looked at me as we layed in the bed and asked. 'Aunty Joice, What are we doing' My reply 'Chilling' This child really did repeat the word like he understood what I had just said.
Well thats what I'm gonna be doing this week
Oh I'm in LA what trouble can I get myself into.
No for real I'm here chilling and visiting Jack who had her surgery a couple of days ago.
So she has 'Nurse Maduaka' at her side. I draw the line at bed pans and bed baths
lol
