Don't listen to those who say, 'You're taking too big a chance.' Michelangelo would have painted the Sistine floor, and it would surely be rubbed out by today

Quote of the day: Women

Whatever you give a woman, she’s going to multiply.
If you give her sperm, she will give you a baby.
If you give her a house, she will give you a home.
If you give her groceries, she will give you a meal.
If you give her a smile, she will give you her heart.
She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her.
Therefore - if you give her crap, you will receive a bucket full of shit.
Love and appreciate all the women in your life.

I saw this the other day on another blog and liked it.

Quote of the day: Simple isn't it?

There is really nothing you must be.
And there is nothing you must do.
There is really nothing you must have.
And there is nothing you must know.
There is really nothing you must become.
However it helps to understand that fire burns, and when it rains the earth gets wet.

Japanese Zen Scroll

But look at these
I want, I need, I must have these. lol

Just kidding

Quote of the day: "Talent is only the starting point"

And so the Olympics closes.

I'm so proud of all my friends who won medals, made finals, semi final, ran PB's and attended their 1st Olympic Games.

Bring it on London 2012

Quote of the day: Character

You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him. (Malcolm Forbes)

Well Done David

My training partner David Oliver at his 1st Olympics got a Bronze today.

Again really proud.
Mainly because I have watched him hurdle near enough EVERYDAY from when I arrived in Orlando.

David believed in himself all those months ago. He counted down the days to todays final.

We laughed about how compulsive he was in practice but it paid off.

It was great to see him with the 'dimples' out celebrating his achievement.

He's like my kid brother. It was just great to watch.

Well Done Tasha D

I would just like to say well done to a lady that I know very well.

I know the struggles shes been through.

It gave me great joy to watch her win her bronze medal in the 400m Hurdles today in Beijing.

You did it girl! Congrats

Quote of the day: Friends

A friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.

For those who don't know. My sister is my best friend.

Its funny when I read this quote I smirked and said to myself 'I must post this one'

I've always called her the sensible part of my brain.

:)

It got me thinking 'How lucky am I?'

What would I/we do without that one special person that we call our friend. That person who does not judge. Advises, but supports. Watches over you and wishes you well.

I share so much with my sister. I can see her during the day and still call her 6 times that evening.

Hmmmm for real how luck am I?

Quote of the day: Chill Out

When the tide of life turns against you, and the current upsets your boat.
Don't waste time on what might have been, just lie on your back and float.

Wow 9.69 World Record

It was amazing to watch Usain Bolts 100m world record this afternoon. To watch him enjoy every moment of his 100m final from the moment he walked out on the track was a breath of fresh air.

So relaxed
So smooth through his phases
From one so tall. 6ft 5.

Wow

The world record for 100 has moved along. We all know hes gonna lower it before the end of the season.
Now let’s see what the women do and then on to the 200m

Quote of the day: Wealth and Responsibility

Many people despise wealth, but few know how to give it away.

Francois de La Rochefoucauld

I watched an amazing program the other night. 'The Secret Millionaire'

Basically a millionaire goes undercover for 10 days in some of the most deprived areas of the UK. They're looking to enhance the lives of the communities that they are in by giving away their own money to causes/people that they think worthy.

We can all give in our individual way.

Quote of the day

If you hate a person, you hate something in him that is part of yourself. What isn't part of ourselves doesn't disturb us.

First Dance

A good friend of mine is getting married this weekend. Unfortunately I won't be able to make it. :(

Self healing

My body appears to be being kind to me at the moment.

Self healing is what I'm calling it. The mere fact that I decided to take some time off and chill has paid dividends.

But its about time I jump on an exercise bike and do something with my butt. Before it starts to spread. lol

Couldn't lock the laptop away

'The grass is not, in fact, always greener on the other side of the fence. Fences have nothing to do with it. The grass is greenest where it is watered. When crossing over fences, carry water with you and tend the grass wherever you may be. Robert FulghumSo

So now what Joice?

You'll just have to keep reading to see what happens.

I have been debating for a while about stopping my blog. The truth is I actually enjoy writing it.

So if you don't mind I will continue.

I'm going to switch it up a little whilst still keeping you up to date with what I'm up to.

R.I.P Bernie Mac

Bernie Mac was a comedic genius. He paid his dues on the comedy circuit for years before getting his big break on Def Comedy Jam. While many people will remember Bernie Mac from his performances in blockbusters like Ocean's 11 and Transformers, Mac was a lot more funny in his own element

Enjoy some Bernie Mac
