As we come to the end of the year. I looked through my SD Card and found these. Enjoy
The Eyes Are The Window To The Soul
Quote Of The Moment
Don't listen to those who say, 'You're taking too big a chance.' Michelangelo would have painted the Sistine floor, and it would surely be rubbed out by today

Someone must be smiling down on me
Family is most important to me. My immediate family are my strength, my core and my refuge. Many years ago I looked at my sister and thought 'There is no one in this world that can best you.' She is my best friend.
So with all this in mind imaging my panic when I read online about the state of affairs at Heathrow airport. 'I want to go home for Xmas' is all that stuck in my mind. Frantically looking at 5 day weather reports and various other sites, I put my trust in a higher being and carried on as if my flight would not be cancelled.
My heart goes out to those poor people stranded in various airports during this holiday period. But as the title says someone smiled down on me and I arrived back home in London yesterday. Albeit at one point we were being redirected to Paris.
So its family, family and more family for me in between practice until I return to the US in the New Year. I still have a little surprise as to where I am going to be but will share that after I arrive safely.

QOTD; TRUST
Trust should be like the feeling that a 1 year old baby has, when u throw him in air he laughs. Because he knows you'll catch him.

QOTD: What We Think

What you up to Joice?
A comment left by Graham prompted me to write this blog. I wanted to give more of an insight into what my days are like and what i'm up to.
This time of the year winter (Fall for my American friends) is the time when the HARD work is put in. These are the days where practice runs on for hours. I pack a snack a protein shake and keep it moving.
I'm a need to know person and have discovered over the years that I like to read a training session. To simply throw distances and times and recoveries at me does nothing for me. Im sure to come back and ask several times 'Tell me again what we are doing'. lol (There is a term to describe this but for the life of me I can't remember).
My day usually starts at 6am (natural body clock) I'm great in the mornings not so good between 8pm and 9pm. Ive been known to fall sleep. Waking up an hour later full of life and ready to go at 10pm. Oh I forgot to mention my must have after practice 1 hour nap.
Since being back in Atlanta i've been weaning myself back into a full week of training.
Week 1 - 4 days
Week 2 - 5 days
Week 3 - 6 days
Im up to 6 already and currently in the 'RED' zone of my training cycle which is also known as the loading week. Its only Tuesday and I can't sit down. My ass is killing me. : (
But. 'Hair of the dog' was my phrase for today as I rocked up at the track to run 300s. After yesterdays LONG session. We have taken to guessing how many $s the training session will cost in parking. lol
Yesterday was our longest at $10. 11.00am - 3.30pm. Hmmmmm
Right about now its about getting the workouts in, lifting the weights and resting. (and repeat the following week)
I have Dr H the best Chiro ever who puts me back in alignment once a week. Ive also met a great massage guy call Rick who finds the niggles. Nothing better than a massage where you just lay and relax.
I'm counting down to going home for Xmas. Of course I miss my family. (My sister is my best friend). But then Jan I have a nice little surprise which I will share yep in Jan. lol
So that's me. Head down getting the work in.
And yes Graham I know where I'm going. lol

QOTD: Winners
The reason most people never reach their goals is that they don't define them, or ever seriously consider them as believable or achievable.
Winners can tell you where they are going, what they plan to do along the way, and who will be sharing the adventure with them.

Yip Man - QOTD
He who knows not and knows not he knows not,
he’s a fool. Shun him.
He who knows not and knows he knows not,
he is simple. Teach him.
He who knows but knows not he knows,
he’s asleep. Awaken him.
He who knows and knows he knows,
he is wise. Follow him….

1:1 Practice Session
A brief update on what I've been up to.
I had my 1st 1:1 session of this block of training today. I had prepared myself for a morning of physical and mental fatigue. It actually wasn't that bad. (she says whilst laying on the sofa recovering).
I call them 'No Hiding Place' sessions.
The session consisted of an Active Dynamic warm up, Drills and Run Throughs.
Below are a clip of the run throughs and that I did.
Job done. I will be sofa surfing the rest of the afternoon. In prep for tomorrows session. What ever that is going to be. Hmmmmmm

Saturday Movies - Getting My Martial Arts On
So todays movies of choice have a Martial Arts theme. My massage therapist Rick recommended a movie and I thought why not.
Now in good old Joicey style, yep I balls it up. I found a movie which I thought was the one he meant. Oh no no no my friend I watched the wrong move. This one had subtitle. Hey hoe I still watched it and it was really good. 'The Legend Is Born Ip Man'. Kinda proud of myself for reading all the subtitles. lol
It turns out this movie is the story of Ip Man (sometimes spelt Yip Man) in his youth. Ip Man is believed to be the 1st martial arts master teacher to teach openly. One of his most famous students was Bruce Lee.
So I got the bug and moved onto the movie I was supposed to watch 'Ip Man'. What an amazing movie really really really enjoyed it.
So I watched that and then guess what I found? lol
Yep you guessed it 'Ip Man 2'
So I'm all 'Ip Man'ed out for the day. Great story that I knew nothing about. I'm off to do a little googling and wikipedia reading. I must add I'm glad I watched them in the order that I did. See some mistakes are good.
Check out the movies if you have some time.
I give them a good 8/10
I'm going to get my girlie on this evening going to watch the new Tyler Perry movie. 'For Colored Girls'. It can't all be about Martial Arts today now can it? lol
PS
Get ready for the 'Ip Man' quotes next week. : )
