This week was predicted to be COLD in Atlanta. Loren decided on Monday that we was gonna ship out of town and we headed down to Atlantic Beach, Jacksonville, Florida to get some sun on our backs.
We drove down on Tuesday morning and headed to the track for our session. The drive was some 5 hours. It actually didn’t feel that much warmer than what we had left behind us. But, calls back to Atlanta said that the temperature had not risen above freezing.
The athletics department were nice enough to let us use their facilities at Jacksonville University.
Wednesday was Loren’s birthday so we took him out to eat at a Japanese steak house and then onto bowling.
The boys got competitive surprise surprise! It turns out Derrick is pretty good. Loren couldn’t help himself and found that he was still coaching be it bowling this time.
We were offered the opportunity to train at the new Mondo track at the University of North Florida for the remainder of our time here. The track and facility is amazing. They even have a 400m warm up track.
The Salford City Reds were out at the track using their facility also. I was like Brits abroad out there. Lol
It’s been great being down here and we have definitely bonded more as a group. We discovered you should NEVER EVER let Derrick eat Calamari. LOL (Group Joke)

Quote Of The Moment
Don't listen to those who say, 'You're taking too big a chance.' Michelangelo would have painted the Sistine floor, and it would surely be rubbed out by today

I like how you add all the pics between paragraphs. Makes for an interesting read. Sounds like you're leaning more about your running capabilities. Keep on learning and running, my friend.
ReplyDeletePoor you, J! When it's too bloody cold in Norwich, we can only ship out to Yarmouth or Cromer!! You need a gopher at all?
