Don't listen to those who say, 'You're taking too big a chance.' Michelangelo would have painted the Sistine floor, and it would surely be rubbed out by today

I've Been Cloned

Why is it that in this economic climate people think its ok to rob and steal from you?

So I'm at the ATM machine yesterday trying to take out money and my card is decline. Yeah I did the double chin pull back.

And got on the phone. Several minutes of listen to bad elevator music later I am informed several irregual purchases were attempted in my account. So the fraud department stopped my card.

Thumbs up to my bank

But now I wont have an ATM card whilst at the World Champs. Unless I get my mum to UPS it to me at the holding camp which is LONG. Im tempted to go down the bank today lay on the counter and beg like I usually do when I go to the Dr's, as thats the only way to get an appointment from the bitch receptionist.

Who ever did this is 'Pure Evil'. That was the quote from my sister bless her.

The Waiting Game

“If you want to test your memory, try to recall what you were worrying about one year ago today.”

E. Joseph Cossman quotes

Its been a couple weeks since nationals and the team was finally named today for the World Championships in Berlin.

Its werid because this time last year I was considering retirement and was in extreme pain. One year on I'm still in the track and field game and on my way to my 5th World Championships.

If you had asked me what I wanted out of this season in Novemebr 08' this selection would have been one of the things on the list. I still have races after the Worlds where I hope to tick off a few of the other items on my list.

But not to take away from this moment please let me say I'm so happy to be named as part of the team. I just want to do my part in the 4x100 as I feel our team has a good chance for a medal.

5th World Champs the experience at each has been so different. Not necessarily a bad thing. I have learned alot about myself and enjoyed being part of Team GB. As I'm sure I will learn from and enjoy this experience.

Over the weeks since returning to England some 3 months now I have spoken pretty much everyday to a friend who has been up and down with their season too. In many ways we have managed to keep eachothers spirits high and motivate eachother. They got their news about selection on Sunday. I on the other hand have had to wait. Its funny how I could be more happy for them than myself regarding selection. Maybe because mine was better percentage wise for selection. Anyway we both going so job done.

Having someone go through the same emotions as me during this time has really helped. Just having that outlet to share the good times and the not so great times has been great. I woud like to thank said friend for their time and patients. I have shown pretty much every side of Joice and they still have remained present and supported me. Trust me its not easy being friends with an athlete when things are not cut and dry. So the pair of us have done damn well to remain friends for so long both of us being track athletes considering we are new friends. LOL

So now I get my meal in Berlin which was promised to me. LOL They claim to know a great Chineese in the city centre. So I'm due to get me a dose of MSG LOL.

I will try to blog alot more over the coming weeks and promise to walk with my camera so I can show you guys what ive been up to.

Nationals Update Number 3

The word for yesterday was sore.
Foot aching a fair bit.

Hey I've had a great weekend. Im not complaining

Gonna take a couple days off and let the body chill and calm down. The foot is nothing too serious just needs some rest and ice.

I have another race lined up for this weekend and then will be back for relay practice in prep for Crystal Palace.

I always love the Crystal Palace Grand Prix being a London girl and in the past training there.

Nationals Update Number 2

Not bad for an oldie. lol

I won my 6th National 100m title this evening. The day started off early with me driving to Birmingham Airport to pick up my coach Loren Seagrave. He was in Rome last night with my training partners. Well done to DP on his long jump win and Durst and Travis in the 100m

It was great having 'Coach' there as he gave me points to focus on. As I said yesterday I have not seen him for some 6/7 weeks and it really did show. I don't think I would have been as successful today if he had not been there. His presence in the warm up was so calming. He made me believe in what I was doing just with little nods as I went through my drills.

This title means alot to me because I was so hurt last year. No the time is not a world beater. But, to be honest I don't care a win is a win. I executed my phase today and I have not done that in a long time. I hope to run my times for Berlin in the coming weeks before final selection. I have several races lined up where conditions will be good.

Needless to say I got called up for testing after my race. Its 11pm and I'm finally in the hotel getting ready for bed after have a quick bite to eat.

So on to the 200m tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it.

Nationals Update Number 1

So tonight I had one round of the 100m it went well. 11.45 fastest qualifier to the semi's. More than anything I was just happy to run with no pain.

Tonight was about executing my phases and getting getting a good lane in the Semi.

I have not seen my coach for some 7-8 weeks. He flew in on Wednesday to do a training session with me and a pre-meet warm up yesterday. He then flew to Rome to be with Durst, Dwight and Travis.

He will be back in the morning for the remainder my nationals.

Gotta Work

I'm basically getting ready for the World Championship trials which are this coming weekend July 10th 11th and 12th in Birmingham.

I have this song in my head and thought I'd share. I've chosen it as my anthem for the week. You know this will be on my Ipod for my warm up. lol
